FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

If you have a question about the Supertee or our charity and how we operate, check out the questions we most often get asked below.  If your question isn’t there, feel free to ask us directly via our contact page.

Which hospitals stock free Supertees? Who do I speak with?

You can see the great community of hospitals that are supporting us and distributing Supertees at no cost to the family on our hospitals page – HERE. The first step is to speak to the Charge Nurse on the ward where your loved one is being treated. If they cannot help you, please contact us and we’ll see if we can arrange a Supertee for you.

Can we get any information about who received the Supertee we donated?

For privacy reasons, we are not able to disclose the personal details of any Supertee recipients, however every Supertee goes to a needy child somewhere in Australia.  Our website contains the latest details on where we are distributing Supertees – see the up-to-date list of hospitals HERE

I’m a nurse how can I have Supertees delivered to my hospital?

If your hospital is not one of our current partner hospitals, we would love to hear from you.  Please contact us via our contact page and we will be in touch.

How can I get a Supertee for my child/nephew/grandson/friend who requires ongoing hospital care?

If your loved one is being treated at one of the hospitals we already supply, a Supertee can be requested from the ward Charge Nurse.

Alternatively, if the parent or carer joins our Facebook family group, they can make a special request for a Supertee.  The Facebook group is https://www.facebook.com/groups/hospitalfamilies.

Can I volunteer to help deliver at a hospital?

All hospitals have currently implemented strict Covid-19 policies that limit the ability for the public to attend on-site.  In fact, our normal method of delivery to hospitals has changed due to Covid and we are not currently able to offer volunteers the opportunity to deliver to our hospitals.  As soon as these restrictions are lifted, we will be calling for volunteers so keep an eye on our website for updates.

What volunteer opportunities do you have available?

We are always looking for volunteers so please head over to our volunteer page for more information.

How do your packing events work?

Our packing events are usually sponsored by companies that want to use it as a team building activity.  We do plan to host a public packing event approximately four (4) times a year. You can read about the benefits of a Supertee Packing event and how we operate them on the packing event page.

Can I attend a packing event as a volunteer?

Yes, we use registered volunteers at packing events to help us manage the day properly for everyone.  Make sure you register as a volunteer via our volunteer process to be able to get involved.

Can I request a Supertee for fundraising purposes?

When you register and are approved for fundraising on our behalf, our team will be able to advise you on the different things we can offer to support your event.  Check out our fundraising page for more details.

Do you do adult sizes?

We recognise and understand that adults, as much as kids, need support when they are going through difficult times and hospitalisation.  Our team are always looking at how we can increase our range and offering adult sized Supertees are part of this.

Where can I buy a Supertee?

Our aim is to provide as many Supertees as we can to the children who need them the most. Because Supertees are a limited resource, we do not currently offer them for sale on our website.

Please consider joining our Family Facebook group where you may be eligible to purchase a Supertee.

How much does it cost to make a Supertee?

Due to the commercial arrangements that we have with our suppliers, we are not able to disclose the cost we pay for the various components of a Supertee care package.

How much of my donation actually goes to providing a Supertee to a child?

For every $45 we receive as a donation we are able provide a Supertee care package to a child in need.  As a relatively new and growing charity, we are constantly looking at ways to reduce our costs and increase the percentage of donations that address our goal.

Where are Supertees made?

We use a range of suppliers for the different components of the Supertee care package, some here in Australia and others located overseas.  This allows us to obtain the best price possible and help more children with the money we raise.

I’ve requested to join the Family Facebook group but have not been approved yet.

The family Facebook group is looked after by some fantastic volunteer mums, who are focussed on supporting their own child’s needs as their number one priority.  If you have applied to join and haven’t heard back for more than 7 days, let us know via our contact page and we will see if we can help.

Why don’t you deliver overseas?

As an Australian based charity our focus is currently on supporting sick kids here at home, however this may change in the future.  Please feel free to contact us via our contact page for more information.

How can I help bring Supertees to my country?

Although our current focus is supporting kids here in Australia, we are constantly considering other opportunities where we might be able to take Supertees to other places.  Please feel free to contact us via our contact page for more information.
