My family have always been a Disney family.
Before my daughter Angela was born I took great pride in preparing her bedroom. It had pink curtains, matching white furniture, so many toys and decorations. The wall above her cot was the perfect spot for the final piece. A sticker that read “A dream is a wish your heart makes” from Disney’s Cinderella. And this is where our journey with Disney began.
We enjoyed a year full of Disney movies, Disney toys and even Disney pyjamas before, we received the news about her cancer.
The day of her diagnosis, I returned home alone to pack a bag of Angela’s clothes to take back to the hospital. I remember sitting in her room thinking how she didn’t belong at hospital, she should be back home. At that moment, those words just stood out on her bedroom wall – “A dream is a wish your heart makes.”
Early that evening we were told the news about her cancer. In a whirlwind of emotions and desperation for some sort of good news, I made a promise to Angela right then, that the moment we can leave the hospital I was taking her straight to Disneyland.
Years of treatment followed. I continued to return home alone, into her bedroom to bring her more clothes – looking at those words on the wall – “A dream is a wish your heart makes”. Hoping beyond hope that my wish for Angela would come true.

Not only have I been able to keep my promise to Angela by taking her to Disneyland, but today, I am proud to say that not only are Disney a part of my family, but we have become a small part of theirs. In partnership with The Walt Disney Company, I introduce the Supertee: Marvel Edition.
