Ash’s Heroic Story
Nataasha's dream of motherhood seemed out of reach having been told she never be able to have children due to endometriosis. After two rounds of IVF, Nataasha and her partner, Adam welcomed their son Ash into the world. She warmly shares that "he has been a fighter and a miracle since the start".
On the 1st February 2022, Nataasha took Ash to the Queensland Children's Hospital after he had been unwell for a month with what was thought to be a viral infection. A blood test that day revealed the devastating truth no parent wants to hear: at just three-years-old Ash had Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia a form of blood cancer that appears suddenly and grows rapidly. This news came as a shock to Ash's parents and Nataasha recalls having an out of body experience, 'I fell to the floor. I remember my legs giving out. You never, ever think that doctors are going to tell you that your child has cancer."
From that moment on, Ash's journey become one of courage and endurance. He has faced blood and platelet transfusions, surgeries, lumbar punctures, pain relief, he had a nasogastric tube and both oral and IV chemotherapy treatments. He has had dozens of hospital stays, and completed his last round of chemotherapy recently on the 16th April.
Throughout his journey, Ash has worn his Supertee, which has not only given Ash the belief that he is a superhero, but it is also practical to wear, especially during his hospital stays. Ash will continue to wear his Supertee over the next few years for check ups and blood tests.
Your generous donation has the power to provide Supertee's to children like Ash as they bravely face their own health challenges. Together, lets stand as the heroes that these children need.
